John, from SETA contacted us regarding an issue the tennis centre were having with their external tennis courts. A small side wall running the length of a court had several players fall against it during training and matches, and it was deemed a safety hazard.
Safety Padding GB Ltd manufactured a fully wrapped cap style pad for the length of the wall, this protected the front and top edge of the low wall, covering all areas of concern.
The materials used were heavy grade PVC with a rip stop weave, this rip stop fabric is coated both sides for maximum performance. As the installation was outside we ensured that the covering materials were able to withstand cold / hot cycles without loosing performance, that the materials were colour fast and wouldn’t fade.
As usual, all foams used in this project were totally non-absorbent. This prevents against the materials rotting and vastly increases the lifespan of the product.
Not only did Safety Padding GB Ltd solve the dangerous issue of players impacting against the wall, the padding also serves as a comfortable and durable seating area for spectators!
Quick turn around of the manufacture (less than 2 weeks from point of order) the works were completed within 1 day. We planned the installation with the customer to coincide with free time at the club – resulting in no court closure or disruption.
